Sand Bar Cottage Inn

We stayed at this charming inn for three nights and had a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, the place had an incredibly warm and homey vibe that made us feel instantly comfortable and relaxed. The daily breakfast was absolutely amazing. Each morning we were offered something fresh, delicious, and beautifully prepared, setting the perfect tone for the day ahead. Another lovely touch was the afternoon tea service at 3:00 p.m., complete with a delightful spread of cakes, cookies, and of course, tea. In the mornings we would grab a cup of freshly brewed coffee from the inn, and walk across the sandbar — accessible only when the tide was out. The location of the inn is also ideal. It’s just a short walk to downtown Bar Harbor, so we could easily explore shops, restaurants, and the waterfront without ever needing to drive. At the same time, it’s nestled on a quiet side street, providing a peaceful and relaxing retreat after a day of adventuring. All in all, this inn offers the perfect balance of comfort, charm, and convenience.

The staff was very incredibly warm and genuine. They let me drop off my bags early and even put them in my room for me once the room was available. There was live music from 6-8pm on the lawn with cocktails being served all on the property. I also enjoyed the ricotta, blueberry pancakes and blueberry cobbler coffee. These were sensational. It was simply the best trip I possible ever have taken. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was an impressive size. Had room #6. It was a king size mattress and the bathroom was large too. The optional clay mud soap for your face felt so good. My hair loved the shampoo and conditioner too. Which may sound silly? However, I have temperamental hair when it comes to products and my hair never felt so smooth and soft. I felt like I just spent time at a Spa. If you can’t relax here, then you can’t relax anywhere.

My husband and I LOVED staying here for our honeymoon🤍 The room was so clean, spacious, charming, and we loved the fireplace. The decor both in the rooms and in the common areas was beautiful. The ambiance was 1000/10. Just staying in the room and relaxing was an activity in of itself. Everything that you would want to do in Bar Harbor is walking distance from the inn. Breakfast and tea time treats were all homemade, and outstanding (my personal favorite was the orange blondie and the chocolate cake with almond frosting) The innkeeper, Chris, is so kind and welcoming. He gave us recommendations of restaurants to go to (we came in late October so many places were closed), and every single place he recommended was excellent. We felt so comfortable here and had a very hard time leaving this beautiful place….we will be back soon, and I can’t wait 🤍

Sand bar cottage inn is a charming, historical home located near most of the restaurants, shops, and attractions in Bar Harbor. When we arrived late Tuesday evening, we were able to walk to the famous sand bar at low tide, grab dinner on the bay, and relax with other guests on the spacious front porch at the inn. The next two days, we enjoyed the delicious breakfast, ,met more guests, and spent the day in Acadia National Park before music in the garden and dinner in town. Our time was too brief at the inn! We will be back. Thanks to Chris and Zac for making our stay incredible.

Super nice, excellent location, place is beautiful, room was great, breakfast was lovely and the people are super friendly. Highly recommend
